My first experience at Giuseppe’s was delightful and left me begging for more of that wonderful taste that lingered on my tongue. I consider myself something of a hummus connoisseur, but no hummus I’ve ever tasted could compare to the eggplant hummus served at this quaint, quiet restaurant – not to mention the main course that followed. Perfectly seasoned chicken on a bed of Persian rice, infused with jasmine and a small roasted tomato; the combination was heavenly. I asked Nasren, the friendly waitress and owner, “Where do you get your food?” “We make everything here ourselves. Everything is fresh.”

Fresh, healthy, and flavorful, Giuseppe’s is a true crowd pleaser. Healthy food is a major concern for everyone nowadays, and although the menu offers traditional, hearty Italian dishes, the fresh ingredients and home-made-daily sauces can ease the mind of any nutritiously-conscious mother. And opting for the lean chicken kabob dish gives you the same satisfaction and full-body flavor.

There is nothing overly ornate about Giuseppe’s. It is a simple model of its surroundings. Nestled at the base of the Upland mountains, Giuseppe’s home-made cuisine and home-town feel creates a comfortable ambiance and peaceful atmosphere in which to either enjoy lunch or dinner. You are welcomed as if into their own kitchen by the owners, Mac and Nasren, as soon as you step inside and are handed a menu.

The menu is large but not overwhelming, offering abundant options for a business meeting, family dinner, or simply a quick solo lunch. Pricing is reasonable. With a smaller half-portioned, half-priced lunch menu, you can enjoy the unique flavors of Giuseppe’s without the hit to the pocketbook.
